She has been qualified for over 10 years and was worked primarily in the non-profit sector in the USA and Scotland. While in the USA, Abby worked for non-profit inner city community centre as a social worker. Abby also led the referral program for support services contracted by the local child protective services and anger management groups.

Since moving to Scotland in 2010, Abby has worked for the local authority as a children & families social worker in the duty, practice and family placement teams before joining JMT in 2011. She is particularly interested in learning about the impact of trauma on attachment and enjoys helping carers develop their skills and knowledge.

When not at work Abby enjoys spending time with her family, music and other creative pursuits.

About Us

Our foster carers believe that offering a permanent foster placement to a young person is a great way to help that young person feel part of their fostering family. The young person may have lived there since they were in primary school and now they are planning to move into the world of work or training or further/higher education. Our carers offer a continuing care placement to young people who have grown up in their homes and who are not ready to leave.
