ABOUT CLARE

Depute Manager

Claire qualified as a social worker in 1988 and has experience of working in both the voluntary and statutory sectors. She was previously employed in local authority child care and generic practice in South Lanarkshire and Central Scotland.  She also spent six years working for an adoption agency in Glasgow.  She has achieved post graduate qualifications  in Child Protection and Permanency Planning and, more recently completed Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy training.

She is passionately committed to improving the life experiences and opportunities for looked after children and is proud of our achievements in creating new families for so many children and young people who have experienced disruption, trauma and loss. Claire works full time in our Livingston office and has recently been promoted to the role of Deputy Service Manager with a focus on Continuing Care for young people aged 18+.

In her free time, Claire is busy supporting her four children to pursue their interests which include swimming, running, horse riding and dancing.  She has a long wish list of places she wants to go and things she wants to do…if she ever finds the time to do it!

About Us

Our foster carers believe that offering a permanent foster placement to a young person is a great way to help that young person feel part of their fostering family. The young person may have lived there since they were in primary school and now they are planning to move into the world of work or training or further/higher education. Our carers offer a continuing care placement to young people who have grown up in their homes and who are not ready to leave.
