ABOUT GEOFF

Depute Service Manager

Geoff has worked in a variety of social care environments over the last thirty years, initially working with disabled people. He became a qualified social worker in 1991. He managed Croydon Councils short break unit for children with learning disabilities from 1998 until 2003, when he left this post and worked as a professional foster carer for four years.

In 2007 he moved to Scotland with his wife, initially living in the East Neuk in Fife. He worked for Dundee City Council fostering team (short term/crisis placements) before moving to JMT in 2013. In 2010 they became foster carers with Barnardo’s and have been looking after two girls since then. These experiences have enabled Geoff to bring another perspective to the team.

About Us

Our foster carers believe that offering a permanent foster placement to a young person is a great way to help that young person feel part of their fostering family. The young person may have lived there since they were in primary school and now they are planning to move into the world of work or training or further/higher education. Our carers offer a continuing care placement to young people who have grown up in their homes and who are not ready to leave.
