JMT In Touch Worker

 

Jill Cairney joined the In-Touch team in 2013 as a Support Worker.

 

Jill supports past and current Moore House and JMT Fostering young people to promote their independent journeys.  Working closely with local councils, social work, housing, DWP, education and training providers to set goals and review outcomes.  Jill works on building motivation and confidence to help young people make positive choices and overcome challenges to improve their health and wellbeing as well as achieving independent living skills.

 

Jill previously worked with A4e for 3 years in post as Employer Engagement/Advisor.  This role involved mentoring a caseload of 140 customers back into work, engaging with employers to secure sustainable employment, completing end-to-end recruitment/selection for employers and reporting outcomes in line with DWP contractual agreements.

As Placement Mentor she delivered secure work placements for 18-24 year olds; identifying barriers, setting objectives and long-term goals for their future.

 

Prior to this Jill was employed with DWP in an Advisor Role.  Focusing on 18-24 year olds to achieve employment or further education, and signpost to relevant organisations to assist with their independent journey.

 

Jill spent 17 years with Virgin Media progressing from Dispatcher of Installation Engineers to a Service Manager of the Operational Department.  Her involvement included heading the recruitment of staff turnover for the department.  Jill worked on development and adaptation to the Company accreditation scheme and new starter programme;   Motivating, managing and developing a team of 25 advisors to meet department KPIs.

About Us

Our foster carers believe that offering a permanent foster placement to a young person is a great way to help that young person feel part of their fostering family. The young person may have lived there since they were in primary school and now they are planning to move into the world of work or training or further/higher education. Our carers offer a continuing care placement to young people who have grown up in their homes and who are not ready to leave.
